The Tackle Football Program is a part of The Chicagoland Youth Football League (TCYFL) (www.tcyfl.net), which is the largest independent youth football league in the country, comprised of over 50 communities around the city.
Please see the TCYFL website for rules, schedules, and standings. Most teams are from the North and Northwest Suburbs and feed into the high school programs that are annually competing for high school state championships. The program develops kids, while providing a competitive environment allowing all kids to participate that their speed. In most Divisions, there are two levels – Developmental (PAC10) and Competitive (BIG 10). If there is only one team in a Division, they play Big 10. If there are enough kids for more than one team, the best (based on speed, strength, skill, experience and need of team) 18 are broken off into one team and the balance of kids are split up evenly into additional teams. Each team will play against like players from other communities. The Developmental teams should not be looked at in a negative light as it gives the players the opportunity to grow when the game is a bit slower so they do not get frustrated or injured. Many kids have played on these teams and blossomed once they got into High School. Having fun in a safe environment is the goal of the Jr Eagles Youth Football Program.
